Meet Lauren

I am Lauren Kaplan, founder of Kaplan Estate Law LLC. After working with individuals and families in probate court, witnessing the repercussions of failed estate plans, I knew I needed to find a better way to empower people to put together an estate plan that works.

 

I founded Kaplan Estate Law LLC with the goal of serving my clients in a meaningful way and to help fix a broken system where clients sign their estate plan and put it on a shelf never to be looked at again. Rather, my practice takes a proactive and relationship-based approach to estate planning. I work with you to make the difficult decisions about your children and loved ones and together we draft a plan that will not only pass along your assets, but also your legacy.

 

I graduated from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2014 and have spent my legal career helping clients navigate through difficult situations. Throughout this time, I have also volunteered for various legal clinics helping those who could not afford a lawyer. I am currently a member of the Chicago Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, Jewish United Fund’s Young Lawyer Group and I’m on the Associate Board of the Anti-Defamation League.

 

Most importantly, I’m also a mom to two little boys. They bring the awareness that estate planning is something you do for the people you love the most. I am passionate about educating and empowering my clients to make the best decisions for their loved ones.
