Meet Lauren

I’m Lauren Kaplan, founder of Kaplan Estate Law LLC. We are a boutique estate planning law firm based in Lincoln Square and serving families across Chicago. After years representing individuals and families in probate court, I witnessed firsthand the pain and confusion that happens when there is no proper estate plan in place. That experience drove me to create a better way — empowering parents, couples, and individuals to proactively protect their loved ones through thoughtful estate planning.

At Kaplan Estate Law, I take a relationship-based approach to wills, trusts, guardianship planning, and other critical components of a strong estate plan. I graduated from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2014 and have devoted my legal career to helping clients navigate life’s most challenging transitions. I have also volunteered extensively with legal aid clinics, providing access to justice for those who cannot afford a lawyer. I am an active member of the Chicago Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, the Jewish United Fund’s Young Lawyer Group, and serve on the Associate Board of the Anti-Defamation League.

As a mom to three young boys, I deeply understand that estate planning is not just about documents — it’s about love, protection, and legacy. I'm passionate about educating and empowering Chicago families to make the best decisions for their futures.
